Call for proposals – Deadline 27th September 2019
We are announcing a new funded commission enabling the creation of 3 x 1 minute Screendance works with 3 Scottish-based choreographers, developing new interdisciplinary collaborations with film-makers.
The aim is to increase the presence of Screendance from Scotland in international dance film festivals through professional mentoring and distribution support. The project aims to increase confidence in artists to explore this genre and get their work on to the international stage through the creation of a supportive professional development programme.
The budgets for the commissions will be £5000 each with additional in kind support provided as needed or available. Creative Scotland are the primary funders of the commissions with additional support offered from Work Room Glasgow, Perth Horsecross, Eden Court Inverness, City Moves Aberdeen, Go/At Media and Screen.Dance
Go to the Stage 1 page for what to do next.
The selections will be based on the clarity of understanding of the nature of the brief to make a one minute work that is a hybrid of the disciplines that make screendance a unique proposition. The ability to achieve the work within the budget limits will be assessed along with technical demands of the work and its likelihood of being successful. The project teams will be looked at to assess the longer term professional development trajectory of the artists involved and the impact it could have on their ambitions.
Accessibility and diversity will be assessed in the open call and applications from under represented groups are encouraged.
